The lions may roar and growl, yet the teeth of the great lions are broken. -Job 4:10 NIV
Modern media puts a lot of time and money into getting you to believe their reality, and if you haven’t planted God’s truth in your heart, you may be easily swayed, as James 1:6 NIV says, “like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” John 8:44 NIV calls the devil the “Father of lies.”
For him, reality is all about the way you perceive it. The truth doesn’t matter, only the way he spins it. It’s like being at a carnival, in the house of mirrors, where each mirror makes you look a different way. If you spend too much time in there, you’re likely to come out with a distorted view of yourself, regardless of the truth you knew before you entered. The devil’s lies are nothing more than smoke and mirrors.
They aren’t reality and you can combat them with the truth: You have the mind of Christ, (1 Corinthians 2:16). You are established, anointed, and sealed by God, (2 Corinthians 1:21-22). You are strong in the Lord and will stand up to all the deceits of the devil, (Ephesians 6:10-11). You can do all things through Christ, (Philippians 4:13).
- Pray that God would reveal to you what errors you have made so you can ask for forgiveness and carry on with the great plans He has for your life.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to help you set healthy boundaries and margins that will allow you to live a life of influence while paving the way to leave a godly legacy.
