A New Year Reminder

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness… Matthew 6:33 NIV

A lot of us start out being exactly where we want to be on January 1—in God’s Word, eating healthy, reading our favorite book, working out, or spending less.  We resolved to make permanent life changes but as time passes some of us grow weary and allow temptations to creep in. Here’s your reminder to stay strong!

Live one day at a time. Life is so much more doable when you live in the present. Don’t give up on your goals. Even “failure” isn’t a reason to quit. God will use EVERYTHING for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). That includes your failures. If you veered off course, turn around and get back on track.

Most importantly, trust God. God gave you a body. Every dollar you have comes from Him. He opened the door for the job you have. Your children are His. Your life is His. Doesn’t this tell you something? The fact that God has entrusted you with so much say’s how much He loves you. Now it is your choice to take care of the things He has given you. If God led you to make changes in the beginning of this month, stay on course! Stand strong in your goals!

Prayer Focus

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to help you remained focused on your goals.
  • Pray and thank God for what He has entrusted you with, and ask Him to help you take care of those things.
