An Attitude of Gratitude

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. -Philippians 4:6 NIV

What you think you will attract. If you think about sickness and lack, you will get it. In the fall months, have you ever heard someone say, “It’s that time again; it’s flu season. I get it every year”. Guess what, before long they have the flu. On the other hand, if you think about abundance and provision, you will attract opportunities to make money.

When you are grateful for what God is doing in your life and you express it, you will attract more to be grateful for and if you complain you will have more to complain about. Gratitude gets you where you want to be quicker. That’s the highest expression of faith. It opens doors that only God can open. When Paul and Silas were in prison, they praised and thanked God loud. It opened the heart of God and before you knew it an earthquake opened the prison and their chains fell off.

Prayer Focus

  • Start thanking God ahead of time and ask God for an attitude of gratitude.
  • Think of ten things you have to be thankful for right now!
