Heart Alignment

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. -1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV

Why study scripture instead of just memorizing verses? Because it cements it into your heart. Cement is anything that binds or unites. Proverbs 3:3 and 7:3 tell you to bind these teachings on your fingers and around your neck, implanting them so they become a part of you.

When something becomes a part of you, it changes you. You begin to produce fruit as a result. Galatians 5:22 says, “But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard,” (MSG).

John 15:16 says that you were chosen to bear lasting fruit. What is lasting fruit? It’s the product of your walk. As you continue to walk more closely with God and learn more of His heart’s desires, they will become your heart’s desires. Your life will begin to reflect His desires.

Just like an apple tree can’t produce plums, a life not closely linked to Christ won’t resemble His. When you examine your life, what kind of fruit are you producing? When you produce God’s fruits, awesome things happen as He works through you and on you.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask God to help you draw closer to Him.
  • Pray that you can bear fruit so others will see and be attracted to Christ.
