Chosen to Lead?

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people… As a result, you can show others the goodness of God…

–1 Peter 2:9 NLT

According to a recent teaching at Bayside Community Church, a fanatic is a “fan with attitude.” Our attitude should be all about standing out in the crowd as a Jesus follower—NOT as a jerk, a know-it-all, or a hater. That’s not how God says people will know we are His followers. Jesus followers are people who know their call, which is to love God and love others.

How might that look in your life?
Are you a foodie? Great! Make beautiful, wonderful food that brings glory to God!
Are you a fitness fan? Great! Run or jump or dance in ways that bring Him glory!
Are you the introvert? Great! Quietly touch one person after another in Jesus’ name!
Maybe you’re like me with one of the biggest voices in the world? Bring Him glory in the shouts and praises that come out of your mouth!

Dear friend, whether or not you realize it, He has called you to live every minute of every day as a Jesus follower and a leader! Who are you leading? People who don’t know Jesus! Where are you leading them? To Jesus!

Let’s do it together!

Prayer Focus

  • Thank God for calling you to lead according to how He’s wired you!
  • Ask Him for wisdom about how to stand out in the crowd as a person leading people to Jesus.
