Courage in Difficult Times

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

–Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT

It is difficult to listen to the news these days. The country seems to be splitting apart. There are constant struggles at work and home, and anxiety is common. Social media can be discouraging, and many are disheartened. How does this turmoil effect you?

Although you live in challenging times, you can trust your heavenly Father who brings inner peace. Scripture applies today just as it did when it was first written. God knows the beginning from the end. We have to trust that His ways are higher than ours and His plan is perfect.

Don’t be fearful. Your peace comes from following the Word of God. Matthew 6:25-26 (NLT) says, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food and your body more than clothing?

Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” It is important to have faith and courage, believing in these words!

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for a strong faith to trust and believe in God’s Word.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you that with the strength of the Lord, you can overcome any fear.
