A Default Life

Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God….

–1 Thessalonians 4:1 NLT

It’s been said that “Mediocre lives are default lives.” What is a mediocre life? One of just getting by, just doing enough to make it through each day, one that has little to no meaning. On the other hand, when we live to please God, our lives are exciting, joyful, and full of fun and blessings! We wake each morning with a smile on our faces—knowing that God has something great in mind for us!

1 Thessalonians 4:1-11 (NLT) reveals exactly how to make that meaningful life happen for you. There are some very specific guidelines in that passage of Scripture, and if you are truly seeking an abundantly, fantastic life—take each insight seriously and incorporate it into your life today.

When you cheerfully serve Him, you will please Him, and He will reward you beyond your wildest imaginations. Try it!

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for a God-obedient mind, spirit, and soul.
  • Pray to obey all of the guidelines revealed in 1 Thessalonians 4:1-18, living every day in accordance with His will.
