Divine Disruptions

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

–Philippians 4:13 NLT

While you can’t control everything that happens, you can control your attitude and choose to respond positively and proactively. As a leader and influencer, it can be easy to become so mission focused that you lose your God focus. In the midst of pursuing your goals and plans, be sure to maintain a heavenly mindset and remain available to God when divine disruptions or interruptions come your way.

Sometimes there are people who need to connect with you, and what may seem to be an inconvenient disruption may be God’s divine appointment. Jesus was available to be interrupted whenever He recognized a Holy Spirit mission. Disruptions can be a bit unsettling, but they can be a great opportunity to lead yourself and others in initiating a life-giving response to the disruption.

Most disruptions tend to happen when you’re comfortably cruising along. The goal is to be faithful, available, and interruptible when God brings divine encounters your way. Sometimes God uses disruptions to get you moving in a new direction. When this happens, you can trust God to provide the wisdom, strength, and resources needed to accomplish His purpose.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for the ability to maintain a heavenly mindset when an inconvenient disruption might just be God’s divine appointment.
  • Ask God for wisdom to recognize when He may be using some disruptions in your life to get you moving in a new direction.
