How Do You Echo Jesus?

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. -1 John 5:12 NIV

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. -1 John 5:12 NIV

Possess is the Greek word “echō,” which means, to “put on, adhere to, cling to.” “Echo” means, “a person who reflects or imitates another.”

“That life” is the Greek word “zoe,” which means, “of the absolute fullness of life, both the essential and ethical, which belongs to God.” “Essential” means, “the very nature,” and “ethical” means, “being in accordance with the rules or standards for right conduct or practice.”

So what does that all mean? He who possesses the Son echoes the absolute fullness of life, both the essential and the ethical. Therefore, when you adhere your life to the Son of God and cling to all that He is, you can expect that all He knows and does, we will also know and do. In John 14:12 Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”

When you make your life about imitating the Son and living as He did, your life will reflect His full glory and victory!
