“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!” -Psalm 107:1 ESV
Expressing gratitude to God is a form of personal worship and praise. God loves that. He loves you. He is worthy of all your praise! He showers you with His peace and grace when you are thankful to Him.
He fills your heart with joy. You can never out-give your loving God! If you’re finding it difficult to praise Him during a difficult time, just the fact that He loves you and covers you in His grace is more than enough reason to praise.
Do you show gratitude only when all is going your way? It is easy to give thanks at this time. It’s harder when you are experiencing difficulties. Counting your blessings and giving thanks, even in the midst of a storm affirms your belief in God’s power, His presence and His knowledge.
It demonstrates your faith in His sovereignty. In James 1:2, He encourages you to consider it all joy when you endure trials of many kinds. Remember this is a great time to express your gratitude even though your flesh is telling you to lose hope, be angry, and blame God and others around you.
God’s Word tells you to give thanks, for it is God’s perfect will for your life. How wonderful to live in His perfect will.
- Ask God to help you remember to express gratitude in all circumstances.
- Pray for a remembrance of all the many things to thank God for throughout your day.
