Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life.-Proverbs 4:23 NCV
Giants are bullies and deceivers who live in the land of your thoughts and the best way to kick them out is with a good dose of truth. The giant of fear is nothing but borrowed trouble. Fear is the thief of opportunity and a dream killer because there is no such thing as a risk-free life, but God has promised He’ll always be with you.
The stealth giant of negative self-talk is regularly left unchallenged as it works in the background where you alone hear it. Unless you blurt out your negative self-talk in front of someone else who calls you on it, it goes unchecked. The truth is you’re not perfect; nobody is, so give yourself the grace and freedom to learn and grow. You can overcome this giant with truth from God’s Word.
The giant of unbelief is about believing in the wrong thing. Instead of ignoring this giant, let the Lord examine your heart through prayer and the Scriptures. You’ll gain the confidence and clarity to slay your giants and follow through on the dreams and goals God has placed in your heart.
Prayer Focus
- Ask God to help you give yourself grace and receive truth from His word in order to kick out the giant of negative self-talk.
- Pray for wisdom and boldness to slay the giants of fear and unbelief in your life and start pursuing your dreams and goals.
