But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. -Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
Whether you realize it or not you have a craving to be filled with God’s love for you. This is not a selfish craving but a necessary one. Being filled means to go to God on a daily basis and allow yourself to embrace, recognize, and take in His unconditional love for you. When you are seeking this comfort, He will remind you that He is the way to nourish your hungering spirit.
He is the “bread of life”. You can stand in lines to feed the homeless, but unless you feed yourself first, you will not be giving from the fullness of God’s love. Imagine you have a spiritual stomach and only God’s love for you can satisfy your hunger. You will never live in God’s plan for your life until you accept His love and forgiveness and seek to see yourself the way He sees you.
“And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you; this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” Luke 22:19-20 KJV.
As you seek this fulfillment, remember that God is the supplier of all your needs. When you are filled, then you will be able to share His love with so many others who have need for His feasting.
- Ask God to fill you with His overflowing love.
- Ask God to show you who to share His love with today.
