Thanksgiving is a special time of year when you acknowledge all that you are thankful for. It is a time to celebrate the blessings in your life and those around you.
Today’s opening verse states that it is good to give thanks to the Lord in the morning and at night. God loves to hear from His children on a regular basis how grateful and thankful they are. Thus, expressing gratitude to God should be a vital part of your daily walk with the Lord.
As joyful as Thanksgiving Day is for many, it can be a very sad and lonely time for others. Pay close attention to those who God places in your surroundings today—whether in the neighborhood, on social media, or at the grocery store.
If God’s indwelling Spirit nudges you to invite someone in your Thanksgiving plans, then act accordingly. You may in fact be the person God uses to express His love, kindness, and generosity through this Thanksgiving Day.
- Take some time today and list 10 things you are grateful for and express such thankfulness to God.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a discerning and willing heart to extend fellowship to someone that may be alone this coming Thanksgiving.
