The Glory of God

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

–Psalm 19:1 NIV

Have you ever been to the mountains? While you were there, did you look up at the night sky? Did it seem like you could almost reach up and touch the stars? Did you feel that sense of awe and the glorious peace of God? When you look up to the heavens, the Bible says, “Day after day they pour forth speech; and night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth…” (Psalm 19:2-4 NIV)

What a majestic and glorious thing it is to see God’s glory unfold as you look up to the heavens where the glory of your Creator exists. The heavens—the vast, spacious place where the glory and power of God reveals Himself day after day, night after night, and for all eternity. The heavens, where He created the stars, moon, and the galaxies, reflecting His glory. So much is taken for granted. It’s easy to forget to thank God for the glory and beauty of His creation. Remember to thank Him, today.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask God to help you see the glory of His creation.
  • Pray for understanding and that you’d see the magnificence of His existence.
