God Connects Us Together | Tuesday | August 28

God’s various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various expressions of power are in action everywhere…

-1 Corinthians 12:4-9 MSG

The Lego Movie has a popular song titled, “EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!!” The first chorus goes, “Everything is awesome/ Everything is cool when you’re part of a team/ Everything is awesome, when you’re living out a dream.” The second says, “Everything is better when we stick together/ Side by side, you and I are gonna win forever, let’s party forever/ We’re the same, I’m like you, you’re like me, we’re all working in harmony.” This means collaboration accomplishes much when each person steps up and does his or her part.

It’s been said there is no letter “I” in the word team. God knew what He was doing when He gifted each of us—differently, with a certain amount of grace, and according to our ability—to function together and construct His kingdom. No one person does it all nor takes full credit. God connects us together, like a body with many parts, so we can plan and purpose together to accomplish His work here on earth. Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits.

Everything’s awesome when we stick with God, connect with His people, and work together as a team in harmony.

Prayer Focus

  • Praise God that He chose you to be a part of His kingdom and one of His team players. Ask Him what He has for you to do.
  • Thank God for allowing you to be part of a team in your home, at work, in school, and at church. Let God know He is awesome!
