Be Real With God

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. -Psalm 55:22 NIV

It’s okay to be honest with God; He has big shoulders and can carry your weight. Healthy relationships are filled with honest people.

A healthy level of intimacy between two people in any relationship allows for each person to be honest about their feelings. It doesn’t matter why they’re wounded. It only matters that they are, and those feelings have to be addressed.

If there is honesty, transparency, and intimacy in the relationship, both parties will be able to talk honestly and listen for understanding, to both validate feelings and work together to get to the truth and find a solution.

Your relationship with God is the same. He loves you more than any person ever could or will. He longs to have the kind of intimate relationship with you where the two of you can sit down, talk it through, and seek to find the truth together.

When that happens, the intimacy between the two of you goes to a deeper level. But it starts with being honest and not shutting God out when the going gets tough.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray honestly to God, tell Him how you are feeling.
  • Pray for God to remove those pains and help guide you to a place of healing.
