Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.
God spoke to Joseph in a dream and revealed the plan He had for Joseph’s future. When Joseph shared the dream with his brothers, they despised him. Out of jealousy, they sold him into slavery. Despite Joseph’s captivity and hardships, God made a way for the inspired dream to come true. Eventually Joseph was reunited with his family and said to his brothers, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people” (Genesis 50:20 NLT).
A similar story unfolds between Jesus and His family. Mark 3:21 (NIV) says, “When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, ‘He is out of his mind.’” Not until after Jesus’ resurrection did His brothers believe in His mission, His heavenly assignment.
Has God deposited a dream into your heart that every time you think about it, stirs a profound sensation within you? Maybe God desires for you to become a missionary, an inspirational songwriter or speaker, a Bible study leader, or an author of a book that may influence many – the possibilities are endless.
Although you have no idea how or when it will come to be, know within your heart that it is part of your purpose for living. Never give up on your God-given dream; trust in Him to carry it through to completion!
- Pray that God will review His dream, His purpose for you.
- Pray for God’s wisdom to accomplish His plan for you.
