Using the Good China | Wednesday | October 3

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. –Colossians 1:16 NIV

If you look around your house, everything has a purpose. The stove cooks, the fridge cools, and the furniture provides comfort. Even china reserved for special occasions has a specific purpose.

We value and appreciate things that serve their purpose, but do we do the same with people? Do we see others as having purpose because of what they say or do, yet feel inferior ourselves as if we have no purpose at all?

If we feel we have no purpose, we lose perspective of why we’re here. There’s one thing we must remind ourselves of daily—that we were created in the image of God. Every- thing He created has a purpose; nothing was by chance or accident. If EVERYTHING was created by God for a purpose, then so were you. You fill a void on this earth that no one but you can fill. You are where you are because it’s where you were meant to be. Without you there would be a vacuum, and your purpose would go unfulfilled.

Don’t let the lies of the enemy steal your joy. Instead remind yourself that you are a child of God. Remember, fine china may not be used every day, but it’s still priceless, just like you.
