Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. -James 1:2-4 NLT
Chances are today, before you even left the house, you heard bad news. Maybe you spilled milk, got toothpaste on your shirt, grabbed the wrong shoe in your dash out the door. Before you get frustrated, stop and think about what you have been praying for lately.
Are you praying for patience? A better attitude? A flexible nature? A deeper compassion for others? The thing is that these prayers are often followed by an opportunity to grow, often in an inconvenient time and place.
Maybe the friend who calls you right before you have to rush out the door is a chance to grow in compassion, kindness and patience! Today look at the small things with a different perspective and see how your day becomes a chance to grow!
Ask Holy Spirit to help you see every inconvenience as a chance to grow.
Thank God for a joyful attitude in the midst of your everyday trials and growing moments.
