Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. -1 Peter 2:11 NLT
Inspite of life’s goodness, at times, we may sense that something is still amiss. Perhaps it’s because we don’t fully belong—we are homesick. What does the Bible say about Heaven? It says that God’s preparing a new Heaven and new Earth, where everything will be made fresh and all will be perfect.
Heaven will be a place of exquisite beauty and will have streets of pure gold. There will be the tree of life yielding its twelve kinds of fruits each month. There will be treasures in Heaven— an inheritance that’s not perishable. There will be no more tears, no more illness, no more death, and no more darkness, for the Lord God will shine and be the Light.
There will no longer be hunger or thirst. There will no longer be wicked people. Nothing evil will be allowed. When we step into our Heavenly homeland, it will be a place of rest and belonging. We will have redeemed, resurrected bodies fit for eternity in heaven. It will be the home of righteousness.
In Heaven, there will be no separation; it will be place of harmony and unity. It will be a place of eternal praise to God. Talk about something to eagerly look forward to while journeying onwards in finishing well this ordinary game of life down here.
