In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility. -Titus 2:7 NKJV
Are you using gentleness? 1 Peter 3:15 ESV says, “But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”
Are you kind? 2 Tim 2:24 NKJV says, “And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient.” The Lord wants us to be examples to others. He teaches and exhorts us through His Word.
When we pray, “Give me wisdom, let Your light shine through me, and enable me to lead many to Christ,” we are believing in God for our leadership role. Our motive, as it was with Jesus, is love. Serving the needs of others is liberating.
We recognize their needs and put our needs aside. It also helps us to heal and realize we are not the only one going through a rough time. Praying and asking for the Holy Spirit’s guidance releases God’s power and shows compassion to the person on the receiving end.
Bringing a meal to someone that is ill, taking someone to church, are all examples of compassion and caring for people in their daily lives. Are you ready to lead?
Ask God to show you how you can kindly lead those around you today.
Think about the leaders in your life and find a way to thank them for how they serve you.
