… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles …
-Isaiah 40:31 NIV
The eagle is the most magnificent and gracious of creatures. The eagle does not fly. The eagle soars! This amazing creature can soar up to 15,000 feet at 65 miles per hour. It has the ability to soar above the biggest storms with such grace. Eagles also have great strength and determination.
You should be like the eagle. When heartache or trouble comes, how do you react? Do you wallow in self-pity? Do you retreat and hide from the storms in your life? God tells us, if you hope, if you are still, if you grab on to His promises, you will renew your strength (Psalm 46:10; Isaiah 40:31). You will soar on wings like eagles through every storm in your life. God will give you the strength and determination, through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, to run and not grow weary, to walk and not be faint. So let the Holy Spirit be the wind under your wings and just allow yourself to soar.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to keep hope alive in your heart.
- Pray for God to give you the strength to soar above the storms that may come your way.
