Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. -James1:17 NKJV
The holiday season is upon us and we kick start the season with Thanksgiving in a few days. This year, don’t get caught up in being so focused on what to make for dinner, whose house you will go to, and Black Friday shopping that being thankful is reduced to one sentence at the dinner table.
Although giving thanks should be practiced throughout the year, during this time of year, take extra time to express your thanksgiving and praise to God, whom has given you every good and perfect gift.
Look around. Become aware of all that you have. Vocalize your gratitude to God for how much you have. God’s gift is in abundance, and if you accept the greatest gift of His Son dying on the cross, not only are the gifts in abundance in your earthly moments, but they become eternal.
- Spend time thanking God for the gift of Himself.
- Reflect on your past, present, and future developing a thankful heart for all God has done, is doing, and is going to do in and through your life.
