No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. -Romans 8:37 NIV
Have you ever thought about the word ‘through’? Philippians 4:13 (NIV) says, “I can do all things through [Christ Jesus] who gives me strength.” Whether it’s Greek or Hebrew, the word ‘all’ means ‘all’. This means wives can honor their husbands, even if they don’t feel it’s deserved. Husbands can love their wives, even if she hasn’t been honoring him.
It means children can respect their parents and we can all submit to the authority placed in our lives. It means you can walk out the will of God in your life even when you are unsure of the way.
‘All’ means ‘all’. But what about ‘through’? You can only do all this ‘through’ Christ’s power at work within your life. If you’re not walking in Christ’s power, your strength will fail. Paul said we can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives us strength. If you’re struggling in an area, ask God to show you how to lean completely on Him so that you can walk in His power.
- Turn to God for direction in your life.
- Thank God that His power enables you to accomplish all things through Him.
