I will tell everyone about your righteousness. All day long I will proclaim your saving power, though I am not skilled with words.
–Psalm 71:15 NLT
Yesterday we set the stage: a boy with some bread, a girl getting married, and—in his own terms—“a runt of the litter.”* Each of these “ordinary” people stepped into God’s agenda, offering Him their stuff, their lives—and extraordinary things happened!
So, what happened as a result of their willing, obedient hearts? Five thousand people were fed, a Savior was born, an army was defeated! Yep, the world was changed forever!
That brings us back to my favorite part of the verse of the day: “though I am not skilled with words.” The person who wrote this psalm didn’t think too highly of his ability with words, and yet this psalm has been re-printed millions of times, into many languages, as part of the #1 Best-selling Book in the World!
You think God can’t use you? Think again. He’s got a path and purpose and plan—exclusively for your life. Will you be one of the ones who says, “Not sure how, or why me, but sure, God. Have at it, lead the way!”
*For the back stories read: John 6, Matthew 1, Judges 6 MSG.
- Thank God for telling us about the ordinary people He uses to change the world!
- Ask Him to help you become the ordinary world-changer He intends you to be.
