The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
–Nahum 1:7 ESV
Sometimes when God takes you down a path, you set out to fix the problem yourself. But it never turns out well. God, in His infinite wisdom, allows you to experience the process.
In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God includes a condition. If you humble yourself, something great will happen. But what if you don’t? When you operate outside of God’s will, life becomes more of an uphill climb. What should be easy becomes difficult, and what should be joyful becomes painful. Things don’t fall into place the way they should and frustration, stress, and sleepless nights abound.
God never promised that operating in His will makes life easy, but you can be sure that the end result will be victory.
Have you humbled yourself? Are you ready to accept God’s path regardless of your vision for what it should be? If you are, expect great fruit from your efforts.
- Pray that God gives you the strength to better humble yourself.
- Pray that He will help you through the difficult times of your journeys.
