Perfectly Applied Pressure

I will return to you at the appointed time… -Genesis 18:14

I will return to you at the appointed time… -Genesis 18:14

Pressure is a great tool, but if not evenly distributed, it can cause something to break. Take a diamond for example. It begins as carbon heated to about 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit and then squeezed under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch. If even 5 more pounds per square inch is applied or the carbon is overheated, the whole process is for nothing.

How can you apply this example to your own life?

Pressure distribution relies on a person’s balance between mental capacity and personal relationships. When your mental capacity is low,  figure out how to redistribute the pressure. If you are walking through life with others around you, they should partner with you to help carry that pressure until your mental capacity increases allowing you to help carry more of the pressure. Breakdowns occur when you don’t have the mental capacity or the personal relationships to help distribute the pressure.

The responsibility for proper application of the length of pressure and temperature fall on the Lord. Just like the scripture says, it will be finished “at the proper time.” Dig into God and His Word, listen for His voice, write down and recite His promises, and then trust that He knows how long you can handle the pressure and how much is needed to produce a perfect, beautiful jewel in your life.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray that God would bring people into your path that you can do life with.
  • Pray that God would help you handle the pressure in your life.
