Pressing On

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 3:14 ESV

When you are tempted to give in to the voice that wants to condemn you and you find yourself bogged down with regret and shame, stop! Take those thoughts captive. Stand tall and remind yourself that nothing you can do or say will change the past. The only person you can change is yourself. You can change the choices you make today.

Let your past be your teacher. Rejoice in your good memories! Face the harm done to you and the harm you have done to others by practicing forgiveness. Overcome your mistakes by repenting and making new choices. Now, praise God, shake the dust from your shoes and move forward!

When you accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, God has a new life for you filled with love, peace and joy. You have God’s permission to move on, free from past mistakes, bad choices and selfish interests. How others view you is no longer your concern. You live in His love and shine only for Him.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray that God would give you courage to continue pressing on toward the goal of forgiveness.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to give you freedom from your past and to fill you with love, joy and peace, so that you may walk in that freedom.
