Ask for Rain

Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain….

–Zechariah 10:1 NKJV

Look around. Deceived, desperate people need deliverance, truth, healing, and help. They need Jesus and the rain of His Spirit.

On the day of Pentecost, Jesus fulfilled His promise to His disciples by pouring out His Spirit. The 120 faithful followers of Jesus were filled and clothed with power from on high. This was the beginning of what the prophet Joel said would come to pass in the last days. The rain of God’s Spirit fell and about 3,000 people received Christ that day.

The Holy Spirit has been poured out, but He hasn’t stopped raining. He’s here in the earth, moving powerfully in, upon, and among God’s people. Joel 2:23 and James 5:7 speak of a time when God will cause the rain to come down—like the former rain and the latter rain together—that will produce a great and final harvest of souls for God’s Kingdom.

God said you have not because you ask not. He instructs you to ask and keep on asking and then you shall receive.

Ask for rain.

Father, we ask for the rain of Your Spirit. We need it. This world desperately needs it. Rain on us, Holy Spirit. We receive Your rain, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask Jesus to fill you with His Spirit today, to clothe you with power from on high. Ask to be filled and empowered every day.
  • Ask for the rain of the Holy Spirit to fall over our nation and our world.
