God Always Takes You Back

And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. -Colossians 3:2 AMP

And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. -Colossians 3:2 AMP

In driver’s education class, they teach you that where your eyes go, your car will follow. The same is true of your walk with God. God has appointed each person for a specific calling. When you keep your focus on Him, your course will follow. But when you allow yourself to become distracted by the actions and words of others, you shift your focus off God causing your course to shift. But, as 1 John 1:9 confirms, when you return to Him, He will forgive and restore you and you will see that He’s been waiting for you, as is the calling that He appointed specifically for you.

Isaiah 55:9 and 11 say, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts…[and] so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

What has God laid out for you to do? What task has He appointed you to do? When you keep your focus on the Father, you will keep to His calling. Even if your focus and course shift, as soon as you turn back, He is faithful to restore you and set you on course to His calling for your life. Don’t let the enemy shame you and keep you from all that God has for you. Step into God’s brilliant light and be restored to His loving embrace.

Prayer Focus

  • Thank God that even when you lose focus you can still turn back to Him.
  • Pray for an increase in your faith.
