Small Pauses of Thanksgiving

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

–Colossians 4:2 NIV

How much of your day do you spend in prayer? Some people probably go through entire days not having any conversations with God.

If you’re waiting for the perfectly quiet and right time to pray, or waiting for His response or signs, you may find yourself not spending any time with God at all. Instead of waiting, take small pauses throughout each day to thank Him for all He is doing in your life. Practice this spirit of gratefulness, especially watching for the little things.

When you start to have a thankful heart in ALL of what He is doing, you will spend more time in your day with Him, and less time worrying about your needs. Watch, as your relationship grows with God, the world around you become a more positive place. He is so faithful.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray that you will notice all the positive circumstances in your life, and thank God for them.
  • Pray that your relationship with God will grow as you spend more time with Him.
