A Song In My Heart

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to your name O most High.

–Psalm 92: 1 NKJV

The heart of God is filled with joy whenever His children praise Him with their whole heart. After all, we were created for this purpose: To worship Him in spirit and in truth, to be thankful in all things (see John 4:24, Psalm 100).

Psalm 92: 2 says to declare His lovingkindness in the morning and His faithfulness at night. During the day as we go to and from work, school, and errands, the Lord our God is with us. We don’t physically see Him but He is there!

Psalm 91:3-4 tells us He delivers us from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He covers us with His feathers and keeps us under His wings. Our Lord and protector never loses sight of us for we are the apple of His eye (Zachariah 2:8).

So, Church, let us declare during the day—with certainty—His lovingkindness in protecting and watching over us, and at night lets us give Him thanks for His faithfulness throughout our day. Let there be a new song in our hearts for His daily safekeeping.

Prayer Focus

  • Holy Spirit help me to acknowledge and never forget your kindness and faithfulness daily.
  • Lord God, help me to trust You in a deeper more profound way as I go through difficult times during my day.
