Stuck in A Rut

From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries….For in him we live and move and exist… -Acts 17:26, 28 NLT

Have you ever watched your dog, cat, or even bird when it’s bored? They come up with all sorts of ideas. Some sleep, find a toy to bat around, stare out the window and people watch while others rifle through the garbage or rearrange your beautifully made bed.

If animals can find themselves in a rut, how similar are people! You may search for something new, a change of some sort only to feel stuck in a rut. It can get exhausting when looking for something different to happen in your life and unfortunately can turn to unhealthy habits to pass the time away.

Life can seem to lack purpose from time to time. During these times, remind yourself you are here for a reason. No place and no one is an accident. He designed you to be here so that you can carry out His work and reach the people around you. And keep in mind, God certainly does not see YOU as boring.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask God to help you see the excitement in the not so exciting activities in life.
  • Read Acts 17:26-28 in its entirety and ask God for insight as to why this time, this place and these people.
