Unwarranted Fear

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. -2 Timothy 1:7 NIV

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. -2 Timothy 1:7 NIV

God called you to bear fruit not fear. The enemy gets you to believe lies through constantly streaming them to you and isolating you once you begin to believe what he says. In isolation, you’ve shut out all other perspectives and are more willing to listen to his.

But the Holy Spirit says that that you’ve been adopted as sons and daughters and are co-heirs with Christ (see Romans 8:15, 17; Isaiah 11:2). In Alex E. Anderson’s, Dangerous Prayers, referencing Hebrews 11:1, he says, “Faith is what you see in your heart. It’s a combination of what you imagine and feel is true.”

If you are trying to break free from the grip of an unwarranted fear, seek godly counsel from someone you trust. Next, immerse yourself in God’s Word, seeking out and speaking His truths and promises so you can replace the fears and lies of the enemy.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask God to help you replace lies with His Truths.
  • Ask Him to help you encourage those who believe lies.
