Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
–Psalm 27:14 NIV
You wait in line at the grocery store, the library (remember those?), at the traffic light, in the doctor’s office, at the bank (remember those?), at amusement parks, and at crowded restaurants. How patient are you? Some are better at waiting than others. You’re told that patience is a virtue and you try your best.
Bethel Music released a worship song entitled “He’s in the Waiting,” and the lyrics are so very worth taking to heart: “Slow down, take time, breathe in He said, He’d reveal what’s to come. The thoughts in His mind always higher than mine, He’ll reveal all to come. Take courage, my heart; stay steadfast, my soul, He’s in the waiting. He’s in the waiting. And hold on to your hope as your triumph unfolds, He’s never failing. He’s never failing….”
No matter where you find yourself “in line,” “online,” or waiting for the phone to ring, rest assured that God is waiting with you—He’s beside you in every situation, every moment of every day and night.
- Pray that you will feel God’s presence during all the waiting of life.
- Thank God for being with you through every time of waiting.
