Who You Are

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 NIV

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 NIV

“You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”

Remember those words? From The Help, sweet Aibileen would remind little May Mobley with those encouraging words over and over again. That baby girl so needed to hear that truth from someone she trusted because it was in direct contrast to what she was hearing from the people who were supposed to love her the most.

Some of us could take a lesson from Aibileen and say those words, or even better words to ourselves each time we look in the mirror. Who are you listening to? How do you see yourself?

If only we could always see ourselves as God sees us. Ask Him to show you. It could change the world–or at least your world. You’d be confident and comfortable in your skin; you would consistently walk in victory and freedom, acknowledging and using all of your God-given Gifts freely. You would be bold like a lion and confident in your faith. Yes, you would naturally be kind, know you are smart, and believe you are important. Look in the mirror and declare God’s word, “I AM fearfully and wonderfully made!
