Your Bible, God’s Word | Monday | September 24

If you make insight your priority, and won’t take no for an answer, Searching for it like a prospector panning for gold, like an adventurer on a treasure hunt, Believe me, before you know it…you’ll have come upon the Knowledge of God.

–Proverb 2:4-5 MSG

The Bible is like a treasure chest overflowing with treasurable nuggets that will assist us well during our quest here on earth. God’s Word is the most valuable book that we, believers in Christ, can read and live by. Like children searching for items during a treasure hunt, we need to dig deeply into God’s Word to discover priceless gems of wisdom, knowledge, instruction, and promises from God. When we seek them like hidden treasure, store them in our heart, and apply them to our lives, God reveals more things to us.

God’s Word is like a treasure map that will guide you through life. There are many ways to search and dig deeper for biblical truth, teaching, and application. You can dig deeper into His Word by studying it at home, attending church, joining a Bible study group, and by watching sermons on TV or online. You can read the Bible from front to back, study one book or chapter at a time, or conduct a topical study based on concern or interest.

Searching for golden gems tucked inside God’s Word is a treasure hunt that never ceases. If you keep digging, you will be richly rewarded.

Prayer Focus

  • God, I want to know You more and ask that You reveal Yourself to me as I dig into my Bible.
  • Holy Spirit, help me to treasure God’s Word and truth. Help me to repent, submit, and obey as God reveals and teaches me.
