Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
–Mark 1:35 NIV
Everywhere you go there are crowds. There are crowded roads, malls, doctors’ offices, food markets, etc. It is a world filled with jam-packed schedules and less time for what is most important.
You may be preoccupied with so many things that you can forget to spend time with Jesus. You were created to have a relationship with Him, but He sometimes becomes a low priority on your everyday agenda. You don’t intentionally want this to happen, but it sometimes happens more often than you would like to admit.
So, how can you find Christ in your busyness? One way is to schedule time to be still—quiet time before you start your routine. Before you get your first phone call, take time—even if it is only 5 minutes—to make Him part of your daily routine.
Giving God the time He deserves from you enables Him to bless you. Don’t be too busy. It can change the whole direction of your day—crowds may become less combative, you may have a little more patience while waiting in lines, and traffic may not seem as bad.
All things are possible when you stop, spend time with God, and ask Him to order your day.
- Thank God that He is never too busy to hear from you each day.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to help you prioritize your day.
