Loving God

And you must love the Lord God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. -Deuteronomy 6:5 NLT

And you must love the Lord God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. -Deuteronomy 6:5 NLT

Do you remember when you fell in love how you longed to be with that person all the time? Do you remember how you anxiously waited until you could talk with them again? When you’re in love, simply being near that person makes you giddy. You enjoy giving them gifts simply for the pleasure of seeing their joy. God is madly in love with you. Just like we give gifts as an expression of love, God chose to express His love for us by giving His most precious gift: His only Son, Jesus.

When we express our love for others, we desire that they would respond with love. How do you respond to God’s love? Do you spend time with Him through prayer, worship, or studying His Word? Do you serve at a church? Do you give gifts through tithes and offerings? Just like you respond to the person you love in many different ways, you can also respond to God’s love in different ways. Above all, the greatest expression and response to God’s love is simply giving Him your heart.

Prayer Focus
