God’s Love Is Worthy of Your Trust

Love…trusts God always ….

–1 Corinthians 13:7 MSG

The Bible teaches that God is love. Since you are called to be “one heart and mind” with God, you are called to love as God loves.

We’ve been taught that love is subjective and conditional. We love people if they meet certain criteria–if they’re pretty, intelligent, well put together, and articulate. Others, like the homeless, the difficult, the sick, and the hard to work with, don’t easily receive our love. When you love as the world loves, by applying conditions, relationships never become as powerful as God intended.

Love is the embodiment of Father and Son. It’s not earned or even deserved. That’s why godly love is so powerful. God gives it freely, regardless of a person’s past failures.

God revealed Himself to you to experience and know love. Ask God to make His love deeply real to you. When you do, you learn that godly love is safe, fruitful, and powerful—because there’s nothing you can do to earn it or cause it to go away. When you learn to love yourself the way God does, loving others is much easier.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray that you will seek to know God’s love.
  • Pray that you will always trust His love.
