Life-Saving Transplant

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

-Ezekiel 36:26 NIV

These verses were written to the Israelites at a time when, as a result of their disobedience, they’d been forced from their homeland and come under the rule of a pagan nation. In spite of their dire state, God offered wholeness and restoration to a people who didn’t deserve it. He offers life and vitality to you too. One cannot receive this new heart without a donor.

Jesus is the only One who possesses a pure and untainted heart; through His death, you have the chance for spiritual life and strength. All you need to do is take what He offers freely to you! This incredible gift doesn’t come by being good or trying hard. It comes by simple faith in Him as your Savior, and by grace, through faith, you receive the forgiveness only He can offer (Ephesians 2:8 NIV).

Remember you can either have a heart of stone or a heart of flesh. A heart that is dead, or a heart that is alive. You can possess eternal life and confidently know that Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26 NIV)

Prayer Focus

  • Say to God, “I understand Jesus died for me to take away my sins. I trust You. I believe. “
  • Ask God to create in you a pure heart. (Psalm 51:10)
