Looking Ahead

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.

–Luke 1:31 NLT

There is rejoicing when a baby is born. The miracle of creation is an awesome blessing. More than 2,000 years ago, a baby was born. His name was Jesus. He was not an ordinary babyHis birth changed history. The Father sent His Son down to earth, and on that day Love was born.

The Christmas story is told year after year about the birth of Jesus. That is only the beginning of the greatest story ever told. The power of that silent night was yet to be realized. He came to fulfill His mission—to save you. 1 John 4:9 (NLT) says, “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.” He is the gift of hope for all those who receive Him.

The upcoming Christmas season is filled with giving gifts and festivities. It is easy to forget the real reason for the season. The spirit of giving should remind you of the Ultimate Gift—your Savior. He is Immanuel, God with us. Celebrate with love in your heart, a song of praise on your lips, and thankfulness for the best gift of all—Jesus.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask God to restore the true meaning of Christmas in your heart.
  • Rejoice and be thankful that God sent His Son to earth for you.
