Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. –1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV
Love that Awakens the Soul
What does love look like? It is something different for each of us. However, from the time we are born until we die, we all need to be loved. Love can be a complex set of emotions and actions.
We are looking for happiness, but many times we hurt one another and cause distrust and deep pain. Hollywood wants us to believe that love is a romantic feeling filled with passion. All these things give false hope about true love.
The only Person who knows the true meaning of love is God. He showed us this love by sending His Son to die for us—and that was love in action. Jesus loves us more than words can say. When we understand this love, it should change us. Our life should not only receive love but give love—not just on one day a year but every day.
As 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (NIV) tells us, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” That is God’s love.
God is a loving Father. “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19 NIV).
Thank God today that His love never fails. No matter what you have done or will do, He will still love you!
