He has covered me with the robe of righteousness… -Isaiah 61:10 AMP
“Rags to Riches” is the dream. As the Bride of Christ, you are royalty, but do you dress like you know it? Ephesians 4:22-25 says, “Strip yourselves of your former nature…And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind…and put on the new nature…created in God’s image…in true righteousness and holiness…rejecting all falsity,” (AMP).
Putting on the new nature of righteousness includes correcting your thoughts, feelings and actions. This takes time, practice and speaking His Truth over your circumstances. Look at the difference between the following two mindsets. Which of these do you want to possess:
Rags: I don’t have what it takes to make it. I’m not good enough. I’m afraid. There’s nothing left to hope for. Robe of Righteousness: I can do all this through him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13 AMP). I am empowered to tell others of the treasure I’ve found in Christ (Ephesians 3:8). God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). God will restore me, He is my firm foundation, and He protectively cares for me (1 Samuel 2:8-9).
One of these mindsets leads to self-destruction and the other leads to life. Take the time to renew your mind daily with the truths found in God’s Word.
- Thank God that He has redeemed you and desires to wrap His Robe of Righteousness around you.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to help you renew your thinking daily.
