Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! –1 Corinthians 9:24 NLT
Run to Win!
We all know the feeling. Test day arrives: did we study, or did we not? An emergency happens: did we heed the warning, or did we ignore it?
Eventually, each of us will stand before God and give account for our life. Did you and I heed His warning to flee judgment and accept His free gift of salvation—or did we ignore it? If we did accept the gift, what did we do with it?
Even our “insignificant” daily choices matter. Did we heed God’s call to tackle that difficult task? Did we heed our body’s call to rest? Did we ask the Holy Spirit how to spend what little free time we had?
You don’t need to be a missionary to hear the words “Well done” from the King. You don’t need to be all over social media. You don’t even need to be a pastor—or have a “title” of any kind. All you need is a love relationship with Him, followed by day-to-day obedience.
As Paul said, “run to win!”
Lord, quicken my spirit today to what You call me to do moment by moment.
Lord, help me see today as the next lap in the race of life—and to have endurance to run the lap.
