He holds success in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones. -Proverbs 2:7-8 NIV
Often times in life, you find yourself in a cycle of endless wants. Modern society has driven you to clamor for materialistic goods. For many, the definition of “being successful” has become the ability to acquire a vast amount of earthly treasures.
The truth, however, is that your worldly possessions will mean nothing in the eyes of the Lord after your relatively short, mortal life. God promises protection for His followers that live cleanly and follow His word. In a world where it seems those that lie and cheat are able to get ahead, you must remember God’s promise: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Matthew 24:35 (NIV). It is the good deeds we perform and the values we adhere to that will make our lives, and more importantly, our souls, the living definition of being successful.
- Pray that God will help you find your own path to success
- Ask Him to help break your immoral habits
