To The Wounded

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. -2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

What’s happened in your past has happened. You may not be proud of it, but now isn’t the time to hide what you’re ashamed of. It’s time to let your mistakes shape who you are today.

Don’t let your past consume you. Instead throw yourself on Jesus, shower in His grace, and move on practicing the love of Christ.

God uses the weak, not the strong; the broken, not the whole. Just look to Scripture: Paul committed multiple murders. Joseph suffered physical and mental abuse. Samson womanized. Rahab slept around. Elijah entertained suicide. Jonah ran from God. Jacob lied.

Your past doesn’t disqualify you. If anything, it prepares you to be used for God. That doesn’t mean you should aspire to sin more. It simply means you’re never too far gone.

You are a new person in Christ. Your sins are nailed to the cross, and when God looks at you, he doesn’t see how many people you’ve given yourself to. He sees Jesus. So confess your sins to God, own up to your past, and let his beautiful grace empower you.
