Waiting For God

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret–it leads only to evil.

-Psalm 37:7 TNIV

It can certainly be discouraging to see someone who is insincere, mean, dishonest or selfish become successful. Some people are ruthless in their quest for money, power or prestige. Thankfully their success doesn’t determine your future; only God, who is all-knowing and all-powerful does that. And when He does, you’ll enjoy the peace and contentment that comes from God-orchestrated success.

The seasons of your life are in God’s capable hands. Even in the midst of your failures, tests, trials or the poor choices of others, God is overseeing the path of your life. So refuse to act rashly or take matters into your own hands. You can be at peace knowing that God has your future under control. Definitely make the effort to improve yourself, apply your best effort and acquire the extra knowledge, special skills or education you need. Then be faithful wherever you are and trust God with the results.

Faithfulness in every season of your life makes room for God to open doors of opportunity and promote you into the place He has for you. And when He does, nobody can take it away from you!

Prayer Focus

Pray for daily faithfulness that makes room for God to open doors of opportunity and promote you according to His plan.

Ask God to help you live in peace, knowing that He has your future under control.
