And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and the books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life…. –Revelation 20:12 NIV
Life is like a book. It has a beginning, middle, and end. Throughout time, you will experience a variety of chapters that will compile your life story. Whatever shape your story takes, somewhere along the way the acknowledgment and acceptance of Jesus Christ must occur. Without such, your name will not appear in one of the most important books of all—the Book of Life.
As a follower of Christ, it’s vital that you stay focused on Jesus—the Author and Finisher of your faith. Your thoughts form an inkwell, and your decisions and actions are like a pen. As new pages of your life unfold, collaborate with God’s indwelling Spirit to edit, critique, and make revisions. Learn to set healthy margins that will keep you in the center of God’s will.
Each day is an opportunity to make wise choices based on God’s truths. Desire to make the Bible your most valuable book, so you won’t be unsteady in your faith. Life is like a book; however, your life in Christ does not end. It continues even after your story on earth has been told. Aim to leave a godly legacy, as Jesus did—for family, friends, and others to follow.
Prayer Focus
Pray that God will reveal to you what errors you’ve made so you can ask for forgiveness and carry on with your life story.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you set healthy margins that allow you to live a life of influence while leaving a godly legacy.
